ITCP 243 - Computer Communication - Data Communications

 

This course will provide students with an overview of the data communications fundamentals. The topics included are basic communication concepts, TCP/IP and OSI reference models, data transmission concepts, channel capacity, data encoding and interfacing techniques, error detection, data link control and multiplexing techniques.

The learning outcomes of this course are:

  • Discussing Data Communications concepts and protocol architecture
  • Understanding Data transmission
  • Explaining Signal encoding technique

Pre-Requisites: ITCP 101, ITCP 121
