ICTM 625 - Green ICT

 

This course provides an entry-level introduction across the broad range of issues associated with use of information and communications technology (ICT) to achieve sustainable ICT operations and business practices.

The learning outcomes of this course are:

  • Understanding of the role of ICTs and their impact on the global carbon footprint
  • Understanding how to estimate the carbon footprint of the ICT operations of an organization
  • Explaining how to access ways to reduce the carbon footprint by changes to policies for procurement of ICT
  • Discussing changes to ICT operations and revising business processes
